Week #145 - 'Shabby Chic Holiday'

Hello shabby friends and welcome to another fun week of inspiration and creativity here in the Tea Room!  This week I am our host and I have chosen the theme of 'Shabby Chic Holiday' along with this beautiful photo for inspiration and I ask that you create a card or project inspired by the photo using PINK, AQUA, WHITE/CREAM and GLITTER!

I loved the idea of this challenge and I thought I would make a Christmas/birthday card, as I know some people who have birthdays in December and I would get told off if i gave them something very christmassy as a birthday card.

So this is my card that I made using the above picture to inspire me. I hand sewed the card front as I wanted to use a lovely soft pink, to fit in with the theme. I found this really sweet teddy from me to you, which my friend is crazy on so I knew I had to use this on her card.

I then added the tags, looping twine thorough them and added a button.

The flowers have a very fine glitter centre which I thought they would be perfect for both the card and the challenge.

I am pleased with the end result as I know she will love her birthday card, and I had such a fun time playing along for this week challenge.
Please take a look at the shabby tea room, the cards are absolutely stunning and you are bound to find so much inspiration over there.

Thank you for taking time to visit me and looking at my cards, if there are any questions please ask. I hope you all have an amazing Christmas!

Seasons greetings

Hello thank you for popping by and having a look at my blog today. I have to be honest, I have been really behind with making my Christmas cards this year. In fact, I am so far behind that I have not sent one card yet, which is pretty terrible!
I sometimes think that as a cardmaker we feel that we have to make every single card that we send which is sometimes not possible, and as much as I would love to do this the reality is slim, so I have finally got round to making a few cards tonight which I will give to close friends and family. Does anyone else feel a little pressure to make most of your cards?

A lot of my elements on my card was made using my cameo and digital pink ink designs , I just adore their pretty patterned papers.

To make this card I used:

White card blank
Digital pink ink background paper
Digital pink ink Christmas tag
Echo park tag
Designs by dani star
Christmas postmarks by Sarah Hurley
Cosmo cricket paper (for the Christmas tree)
Brown thread
Small peg
Red & white twine
Glossy accents

I first cut down my backing paper to fit my card front and I then hand stitched the edges with brown thread. After adhering this down onto my card front I cut out the black and white echo park tag and looped through the twine. I placed the tag at the top left of my card, and then added the Christmas tags and star.
The Christmas tree was then placed at the bottom left of my card and I added the greeting and Christmas postmark.

To add more dimension to my card I went over the star and greeting with glossy accents, and then added clear balls onto the Christmas tree.

I hope you like the end result, and if there is a question about the card or products used please ask.

I would like to enter this card to word art Wednesday challenge 59, this is my first entry to the challenge. The ladies over their seem so friendly and kind, also there is so many beautiful cards to look at and be inspired by, it's definitely worth visiting at:

Thank you so much for having a peek at my blog and cards today.

Shabby tea room challenge week 144

Hello :) thank you for stopping by my blog today. I hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

I have made this card for a challenge at the shabby tea room, I absolutely love their challenges and the design team over there are amazing!! The challenge this week was to make a card using the colours pink, aqua, silver with some glitter.
This is what I came up with and I have got to say I really enjoyed this challenge but what I have missed is taking part each week due to moving home and having nowhere to craft I have really missed taking part, however I can't be beaten and I'm having to go through my boxes of craft bits to try and make a card which seems to take forever he he!

The products I used to make this card were:

Kraft card base
Grid paper from Cosmo cricket
Me to you bear chipboard embellishment
Vellum butterfly's
Tab cut with my cameo
Felt flower with a glitter centre
3D flowers handmade
Paper smooches stamp
Versamark ink
Doily cut with my cameo
Pattern tape
October afternoon flower paper
Glossy accents
Seam binding
Glitter glue
Foam pads

To make the card I cut down my backing paper and placed this on the front of my card, I then cut a strip of october afternoon paper and placed this on top of the grid paper, which i then added the doily with foam pads and placed the teddy on top.

Next I cut out the tab and stamped my greeting on top and I then added the washi tape along the bottom of this.

I adhered the tab near the middle of the card, and then made the flowers which I placed along the side of the doily. I wanted a more 3D effect so I found some vellum butterfly's and placed them onto my card front.

As I needed to add glitter I found a flower and added glitter to the centre. I finished off the card with white seam binding to make it look complete.

I really enjoyed making the card and taking part this week. I hope you enjoy the card too.

If you want to take part and be inspired head over to the tea room at:

Enjoy your day and thank you for having a peek at my cards,

Super sweet birthday!

Hi! Thank you for stopping by my blog, I hope you enjoy looking at my cards.

So the weather today has been really dark and raining all day, I decided to make a card to brighten up the mood. Along with baking some cupcakes with my little girl and painting we've had a lovely day, and I wanted to finish off the day with a card that represented this ;)

To make the card I used:
White card base
Pattern paper by me to you
Pink satin ribbon
Brads
Handmade flowers
Skull, doily and eyes cut with my silhouette
Vellum flower
Purple buttons
Paper smooches stamps-greetings
Versamark black tuxedo ink

Firstly I cut all my pattern papers down to size and adhered these to the front of my card.
I then cut my images with my silhouette machine and added the flower and brad.
I then made the flowers and placed this all on my card front after stamping the greeting.
After adhering all the pieces down, I added two buttons at the top and ruffled the ribbon at the bottom.
That's it! :)

I love making colourful cards and I'm absolutely addicted to these skulls at the moment! I'm not normally a 'skull' person but I think she's really cute!

Thank you for looking and any questions about the card just ask, I have tried to include all details and brands used above.

I hope wherever you are that it's not raining and gloomy!

Thanks!

Croc pirate card

Hi! Thank you for stopping by today, I was thinking the other day that I don't have many children's birthday cards, and thought about making some and this is the first finished card.

As I didn't have a child in mind I thought I would make a boys card. Plus I wanted to do some colouring so I broke out my pro marker pens which I think are amazing and half the price of other brands.

So this card is actually pretty large: 9 inches by 4 and it was cut on my cricut machine. I used the wild card cartridge.

I then found this cute digi from dustin pike and coloured him in, and the sun is cut from my cricut using the doodlecharms cartridge.

So onto my papers- the green cardstock is from papermania, and the coloured card is die cuts with a view doodle pad. I added an American crafts star ribbon and then added brads in the corner of the card.

After adhering all the items onto my base this was my finished card.

I think I will be making more cards using the image I think it's perfect for a boys card or even a girls.

Thanks for stopping by today, enjoy your Friday!

Skull get well

Hi thanks for stopping by my blog today, and taking a peek at my cards.

I have used this image before as I think it's so sweet and I made it using my cameo machine. The skull shape I bought along with the eyes and added them together to make this skull card.

I also used my cameo to cut the tab, doily, flowers and the stamp is paper smooches which I just adore the greeting set.

I found the pink satin ribbon from hobbycraft and the washi tape is from papercraft inspirations magazine
( gotta love a freebie :) )

The backing paper is also from papercraft inspirations. I'm still loving graph paper I don't think that will ever change!

The flower was punched from vellum and I added a brad through this, just to brighten her up.

As you know winter is full of colds and sickness so what better reason to make a get well card!

Thanks for looking and please feel free to ask any questions about the card and products used.

Have a nice day,

Sweet sympathy card

Good morning, what a rainy morning it is! Autumn is such a beautiful season with all the pretty browns and golds it's so pretty but not this morning. It's very dark and gloomy out there.

Anyway I have been busy with my cards the last couple of days and I wanted to share my most recent design.

This sympathy card uses one main image the butterfly, which is so pretty,
and I also broke out my embossing powders. To make the card I used:

Light brown cardstock
White cardstock
White embossing powders
Pink stamp pad
Ribbon
White gel pen
Unity stamp butterfly
Alphabet stamps from unity
Handmade flower
swirl stamp from papermania

I cut my cardstock down and trimmed my white card to a square to sit at the top of the card.

I then added some swirly stamps and embossed with white embossing powder. I used my ink pad to then tint the card. This also help the embossing show up.

After adhering down onto my card front I added a sheer ribbon and stamped the butterfly image.

I then added a handmade flower and made some stitching marks around the lower card.

Lastly I added my greeting. I stamped each letter then hand cut them out and adhered these to the card.

I think this butterfly stamp has so many different uses it's definatley one for your stampin stash.

Thank you for stopping by today if you have any questions about the card or products used please ask,

Thank you

Sweet puppy

Hi thank you for stopping by my blog today. As you can see I'm still catching up with blog posts that I missed so here is a card that is simple but sweet and super quick to make.

Firstly I used a Kraft cardstock and stamped the background image (hero arts). I then used my cricut to cut out this cute dog which I then added the wobbly eyes! The image is from the sweetheart cartridge.

I then stamped my sentiment (hero arts) onto a cream cardstock which I then added foam pads too. After adhering the dog to the cardstock I then went around the edges with a white gel pen and added some buttons.

The flower is handmade and I cut this out on my cricut using yellow and pink cardstock.

Simple but sweet and very easy to make.

These cards are great to have on hand when you need a card as they will cheer up the person who you send it too and they take very little time to make.

Thank you for looking and if there are any questions please ask.

Gnome card

Hello! Wow it's so cold over here in England today, I miss summer!

So as I am trying to catch up on my blog posts I thought this cute gnome card would be a good start. I found him on the Internet and thought he would look really sweet on a moving home card.

So here is how I made the card:

Firstly I used a square card and printed off the backing paper from my polkadoodles CD ROM. I then cut to size and adhered down to my card front. I then cut out a house from the same CD and placed this on foam stamps.

The CD I used from polkadoodles is from the all around and everywhere CD.

The sun is cut out with my cricut doodle charms cartridge.

The clouds I drew myself and coloured them in with a promarker.

The gnome was then cut and coloured in again with my promarker pens.

I then hand cut the felt grass border and stuck this down with a very strong backing tape.

The greeting I made on my computer as I couldn't find the right stamp.

Thank you for stopping by and if there are any questions please ask.

I hope you are all having a great day!

A card for Christmas

Hi there, thank you for stopping by today!

My blog has taken a back seat recently due to moving house and me having no where to craft. I have seriously been having withdrawal symptoms so I thought enough was enough and used the floor to craft which isn't the best but a girls got to do what a girls gotta do :)

So here is my first Christmas card that I made, here are the details:

I used Kraft cardstock, and white card which I trimmed and ran through my embossing machine. I then adhered the cute chipboard Christmas tree and added the cute buttons. I used some brown stitched ribbon and also washi tape which finished the card off.

Oh how I have missed blogging and crafting!!

Well now I have kinda worked out where I can craft there will be more posts and hopefully I will be able to catch up in the posts I have been trying so hard not to miss!

Also my health has taken a turn for the worse recently but I will not stop this from me getting my craft on!

Thanks so much for taking a peek at my blog I really appreciate it.

The notepaper was also printed and cut with the cameo and also the borders.

I actually hand stitched the white card outer edge as I'm terrible using a sewing machine :)

Of course I added handmade flowers to the card too!

I hope you all enjoy your day and if your watching the Olympics too good luck. Thanks for stopping by my blog and if there are any questions about the card or products used please feel free to ask me.

Deer and flowers card~Shabby tea room week 124

Hi guys, oh my I have been so busy moving these past few weeks and didn't have time to blog! So I couldn't take not crafting for much longer and decided to make a card.

The deer is so sweet I had to use it on this card, it's actually printed off my cricut imagine. The speech bubble is from Cosmo cricket earth love which I then stamped the sentiment using hero arts stamps. As usual the flowers are handmade as you know I am obsessed with these right now.

I added a button and looped some thread through and added some material along the bottom of the card to finish it off.

I was really inspired making this card using the photo at shabby tea room as I love all the colours and this was my end result.

If you want to see loads of brilliant cards check out shabby tea room it's full of beautiful cards and ideas, I am entering this into their challenge this week.

Birdie card: shabby tea room challenge week 120

Hi there, over at the shabby tea room their challenge this week is soft and sweet. They have a beautiful photo at their blog to inspire you so here is my take on the challenge this week.

I used this bird image as its sweet and has soft colours which I just love. I used my cricut imagine to cut out the image, and decided to use a note book page die as my background. This was cut out on my cameo along with the handmade flowers. The stamped sentiment is from paper smooches and I just adore the font.

I also cut out a doily shape to use as a background element that the bird would be adhered to. I also decided to use a soft mesh along the card as I love having texture to my cards.

The shabby tea room has some amazing cards on their blog if you would like to have a look at:

Raccoon & squirrel birthday card

Hello there, how is your week going so far? I have had a really busy week as we're due to move in the next few days so that's why my blog has been a bit quiet lately, and of course I have an energetic 1 year old girl so it's been very busy and sometimes stressful. It's funny how moving can make you like that but anyhow onto the card:

I used my cricut imagine to cut out the raccoon & squirrel, and I also printed the cloud backing paper.

After adhering down the backing paper I then added the raccoon with 3D foam pads and placed them in the middle of my card. I cut a small strip of October afternoon card and placed this along the bottom of the backing paper.

My sentiment was stamped using a hero arts stamp. Of course I had to add my handmade flowers to the top of the card.

The large flowers were made with my cricut and the scallop border edge was cut out on my cameo machine.

Thank you for stopping by and any questions please ask thanks!

Miss you bird digi stamp

Hi there, well I have been busy I decided to make another two cards for paper smooches guest designer blog. This bird is so sweet and again was a freebie from Kim's blog ( really thank you so much ). I love the little flower on him and I coloured him in with my promarkers, the speech bubble was cut out in my cameo and I stamped the miss you sentiment using smooches stamps. I have said it before but these stamps come out so clean and crisp they are perfect.

I actually hand stitched the border which took forever but I think it looks nice so was well worth the numb fingers :)

Again I made the rolled up flowers just to finish the card off.

Me to you happy birthday & shabby tea room week 118

Hello again! How is everyone? I hope your all having a good start to the week, I have been feeling terrible with my back but hey ho as they say the show must go on! So I have made another me to you bear birthday card, as you can never have too many birthday cards right?

So here is how this particular card was made:

I started off with a white card base which I then added some grey paper (polka doodles CD ROM-all around and everywhere) which I then cut down and adhered to the card front.

I then printed off the music note paper from my imagine machine and also cut out a doily shape with my cameo. After adhering down the music paper I inked the edges of the doily with a pink stamp.

The next step I added the me to you bear with 3D foam pads. ( love them ). I then added some pink satin ribbon along the bottom of the card which I then ruffled. I stamped my sentiment, ( smooches stamps ) and then placed this at the top of the card adding a few handmade rolled roses. I also added this velum butterfly just to finish the card off.

I love the shabby tea room and this week the challenge is to create a 'shabby beautiful' card using pink, aqua neutrals and flowers. If you want to check their blog and talented  design team here's the link:

Owl thinking of you

Hello! Hope everyone is good, yet again it's pouring down with rain over here so I have been busy crafting away, but as we're packing up bits for when we move I have stuff everywhere which annoys me as I like to have my stash and supplies all tidy and in front of me ( okay they don't stay tidy for long ).

Okay so here is the card I made and how I made it:

I printed off this Cosmo cricket background paper from my cricut imagine and hand cut a scalloped border which I then used as my base, after adhering it down to the front of my card I stamped the owls ( unity stamps ) and coloured them in.

I added some handmade flowers and stamped my sentiment ( hero arts ). I then added some washi tape along the bottom of the card and wrapped a piece of ribbon around.

I cut a circle and hand stitched around the edge using blue thread and used some foam pads to stick the owls down.

Thank you for having a look at my blog and any questions please ask,

I hope you all have a good day today see you soon!

Me to you happy birthday

Hello there! I have a friend who is mad on the me to you bears so when these chipboard bears came through my door I was overjoyed as her birthday was just around the corner and I couldn't think of a better card to make than a me to you bear birthday card.

So here's how I made the card:

I first started by cutting a doily shape on my cameo and blending the edges with some ink, after trimming some white card to make my base I ran it through my cuttlebug using the Swiss dots embossing folder. This was then adhered down to my card, along with the doily shape. I adhered the bear right onto the doily and added some ribbon that I then ruffled up.

I then cut out a speech bubble on my cameo along with some flowers, which took a while to roll up but I am obsessed with these at the moment so it was well worth it.

I then stamped my happy birthday sentiment using paper smooches stamps ( love love love these ) and then began arranging my flowers and adhering them down onto my card.
I then added some washi tape along the bottom and stuck down a border strip along the bottom of the ribbon to finish the card off.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and having a little peek, as usual if there are any questions about the card or products used please ask.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend, as per usual it's been wet and windy here so im going back to my crafting :)

Owl congratulation card

Hi there, well this miserable weather we are having right now in the U.K is horrible, we have got strong winds and lots of rain so there are a lot of miserable people this week! Isn't it funny how the weather can affect your entire mood! Anyway I have made this owl congratulations card to bring a bit of warmth and comfort into anyone who needs it :)

Okay so my owl stamps are from unity stamp company I just think they look so sweet snuggled up to each other, I coloured them in and then cut them out and put some foam pads behind the image. The background paper is Cosmo cricket and the congratulations stamp is from paper smooches. I am actually in love with these stamps they stamp so well and always come out nice and crisp. I then added a pink ribbon and cut out some paper flowers to add to the bottom of my card.

I just thought that this card could do any occasion really, Engagement, new home, new job, you can always add a little bit more to the card if needed but I just thought that these type of cards are pretty handy to have in your card box especially if you need a quick congratulations card.

Anyhow I hope we start to have some sunny days here soon, this wind is sounding pretty scary!

Thanks for stopping by and having a peek at my cards, any questions about how the card was made please ask,

Ladybird birthday card

Hi how are you all? Hope you all had a lovely jubilee weekend, did any of you watch the concert at Buckingham palace last night? It's a shame we had miserable weather but I thought the concert was good. Like most people we watched it at home :)

Anyway getting back to the card, I love cute little bugs so I decided to make this little ladybird and of course it was made on my cameo machine. I actually cut most of the elements on my cameo and I used a paper smooches birthday stamp. The little peg with a ladybird on is from hobbycraft which I thought was really sweet. The papers are from Cosmo cricket and polka doodles all around and everywhere cd rom. The butterfly was a die cut I used again from my cameo.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of the jubilee weekend lets hope the sun will come out today!

Thank you for stopping by and if you have any questions please ask :)

Happy anniversary butterfly card

Hey everyone, how are you? Well as wedding season is starting up again I decided to make up an anniversary card for those married couples. I love celebrating people's anniversaries with them especially if they have been married a long time, so i thought of a beautiful creature that represents love and came up with butterflies.

I actually made these butterflies on my cricut machine using the create a critter cart which has so many lovely images on there. I then crinkled up their wings and added some colour around the edges. After adhering down the cardstock and butterflies I went around the edges of the cardstock with a white gel pen then added the sentiment stickers and buttons. I stuck to a white and pastel pink colour as you know how much a love a bit of pink! Plus i think it gives the card a bit of a romantic look and being as it is a anniversary card that made my decision final :)

I hope you all enjoy the butterfly card and thank you for stopping by my blog,

Thinking of you~skull card

Hi there, how is everyone? I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. Guess What- its raining here for our jubilee weekend! It's such a shame really as there are so many party's and bits going on all over the U.K let's hope it don't last long!

So a few posts back I said about my skull card and how I made the die with my silhouette machine, I did get very carried away and cut out a bunch of these images, so here is another card showing the image. I hope you like it! I also got carried away with my rolled flowers, but I just love how they brighten up any card.

I also hand stitched the border with some lovely pink cross stitch thread and cut out a banner to stamp my message across.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and thank you for stopping by,

Sunny get well card

Hi there, how is everyone? We are still having warm sunny days here in the U.K but today is much cooler, however as its a bank holiday weekend and the queens jubilee the chances of rain are pretty high! So I thought about making a bright get well card to bring back some sunshine!

I used a Kraft card blank and most of the card embellishments and papers was made on my imagine machine using the best friends cart. After adhering down the flower pattern paper I cut out the sunshine and filled in some clouds with cloud paper, and i then cut out the girl and cat. I then added a scalloped border along the edge of my card and finished with a stamped get well sentiment from hero arts. I think this card is good for all ages and I'm sure it will cheer them up.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and celebrates the queens jubilee, let's hope it's a nice warm weekend!

Thank you for stopping by and any questions you may have feel free to ask me,

Purple monster happy birthday card

Hi, how is everyone? I have been playing around on my cameo and I just love these little hero arts monsters! They are really sweet, when I first got them I thought they are perfect for boys cards but you can make them for girls too and I think any age will love them.

To make my monster card I cut out a doily design along with the monster and I also cut some flowers that I would fold up. I then added some Cosmo cricket papers and echo park papers along with some pretty tape. I then added my stamped sentiment and adhered everything down onto my card. I think this one may need to be sent in a 3D envelope!

Have fun wherever you are and if anyone is making monster cards I would love to see what you make.

Well it looks like its going to be another hot day here in the U.K :)
Thanks for stopping by,

Happy birthday bird card

Hello again, do you ever have the same problem as me~you make so many cards then when you need a certain card it's gone never to be found again (oh that's right I already gave it away) well I made this happy birthday card just for that reason, it's simple and quick to make so if I ever 'forget' where that birthday card went then I can pull this one out and everyone is happy! Unless they don't like pink or birds....

OK so I said it was quick to make as I already had everything ready to go but even if you don't have all your supplies at hand it doesn't take too long. And we all have bits and bobs that are hiding somewhere waiting to be used up :)
To make the background I ran a piece of white cardstock through the cuttlebug and used the Swiss dots embossing folder. The brown edge border is die cut from the accent essentials cartridge. The bird was cut out from my imagine more cartridge but you can use any embellishment you want or have close by. I then added pink ribbon and a stamped sentiment along the bottom of the card which was then finished off with a big button.

Sometimes the simple things in life are often the best. However if you wanted to add more or less go ahead this is just a quick card for when you have 'forgot' where that card was....

Thanks for looking,

Get well card

Hi, it seems that I have a few friends who are not feeling well at the moment so some get well cards were made to cheer them up. I love making get well cards as I think most of us seem to catch the odd bug and sometimes we can feel a bit down so its nice to know that someone is thinking of you.

Right lets get onto the card and how I made it; I have used my cameo to cut the skull then I cut some eyes and a smile. The flower at the top of the head is from a punch with a brad put through the centre. I then cut out a doily design again on the cameo and inked the edges. After stamping the get well sentiment onto a tab I then adhered all the pieces onto the front of the card. I added pink ribbon and some tape along the bottom.

I don't know why but I really like how the skull turned out so I have made a few more cards featuring the skull.

If anyone is feeling ill or going through a tough time right now I hope you feel better soon. Get well soon can mean a number of different things depending on the individual person. I just think a nice card will let them know you are thinking of them :)

Thank you for stopping by,

Hippo Happy Birthday Card

Hi there! Believe it or not but here in England we have had some scorching sunshine so what better way to celebrate than make a sunshine card. I love the sun so I printed out the sun topper from my imagine machine I think it looks so sweet, the hippo and polka dot border is also from the imagine and the cartridge I used is imagine more. As I love cosmo cricket I had to use some papers from the girl friday collection. The flowers are rolled paper flowers and I cut these out with my cameo.
Here is a close up of the rolled flowers.
I hope your having a lovely day and the sun is shining where you are, thank you for stopping by,
